Alexx has done an amazing job with this course, I signed up having already made significant changes to reduce toxins in my skincare, our home and our food and still learnt so much. I personally loved listening to the interviews and really appreciate the product recommendations throughout. It’s a course that I continue to dip in and out of and for that reason highly recommend getting Lifetime Access.
Like most mums, I hit the ground running in the mornings and find that having a nourishing breakfast really makes a huge difference to my day, especially when I’m breastfeeding. I also find that if it can be made in minutes and easily adapted for the kids, even better. Sunshine Slice, Eggs Fetta Lemon, Fruit Crumble Cups and Grilled Haloumi and Pesto Wedges are my picks from this eBook.
I have this saved on my phone and frequently refer to it for lunchbox and snack ideas, it is filled with so many great recipes and suggestions. We have coeliac disease in our family and my little boy has friends with severe allergies to eggs, dairy and nuts so I love that Georgia has given great substitution ideas throughout. The Coco Loco Loaf, Rainbow Rounds and Wraps are some of our favourites.
The Healthy Baby Code
Chris Kesser is an Integrative Medicine Practitioner and created The Healthy Baby Code to provide nutritional education to supercharge your chances of conceiving and having a healthy baby. I love that this course brings everything together from fertility through to the first year of your baby's life. I'm really passionate about gut health so found the knowledge Chris shares in this course validating especially when it came to introducing solids to my children. There's loads of information including super helpful summaries, downloads, mp3s and more. It's brilliant value but like any course does require a commitment to taking action and making positive changes.

Pregnancy and Birth
Tracey Anderson Askew
If you want to feel empowered and confident in your body's ability to give birth you'll really enjoy what you learn from Calm Birth. I was hugely impressed by the content dedicated to the role of the support people too, it helped my husband understand how things were progressing and provided him with the tangible skills (meditation, massage, keeping me hydrated etc) to best support me during labour - he was incredible! Tracey is a wonderful teacher, we were grateful for her guidance and encouragement when welcoming our beautiful firstborn to the world.
Spinning babies is a website featuring information, workshops and reference guides on optimal fetal positioning. I attended one of the online workshops and learnt so much about how to feel more comfortable in the later stages of my pregnancy and exercises I could do to help progress labour. I learnt all about rebozo sifting, forward-leaning inversions and the side lying release known together as the '3 sisters'. In hindsight, I (personally) wish I had learnt about this earlier in my pregnancy so I had more time to absorb the information and feel confident in the techniques. Please note, I strongly recommend discussing anything you are considering trying with your birth support team to ensure it is safe for both you and baby.
Dr Maxwell Fraval
Canberra Osteopathic Centre
Maxwell is Australia's leading paediatric osteopath. In my experience of taking my two children to see him since they were newborns, I have found him to be knowledgable, caring and incredible at the work he does. Here is link to a page on their website about babies and children that has information I believe is useful to every mother. It may also help inform your search for a great osteopathic practitioner in your area.

Nourishing Newborn Mothers
Ayurvedic recipes to heal your mind, body and soul after childbirth.
It’s said that the care and nourishment a mother receives during the first 40 days following childbirth sets the foundation for the next 40 years of life. This beautiful cookbook and guide was gifted to me prior to the birth of my firstborn, I was grateful for the wisdom bestowed upon me by Julia so much so that I went on to complete her Postpartum Professional Training and now incorporate this knowledge into my practice today. You can download the first chapter of the cookbook for free here.
The First Forty Days
The Essential Art of Nourishing the New Mother.
As above, the first 40 days after the birth of a child offers an essential and fleeting period of rest and recovery for new mothers. This beautiful book is based on author Heng Ou's own postpartum experience with zuo yuezi, a set period of "confinement," in which a woman remains at home focusing on healing and bonding with her baby. I adore this book and highly recommend it as a source of connection, nourishment and guidance.
Exercise, physiotherapy and Pelvic Floor
Back in Strength Physiotherapy
An incredible physiotherapist, Ella is a wealth of knowledge and invaluable support for women pre and postpartum. She was an integral part of my personal health and wellbeing team postpartum, coming highly recommended to me by a number of other mothers. I now too, enthusiastically recommend her services - in particular, pelvic floor physiotherapy and personalised pilates programs - to women in the Canberra region.
Maureen Bailey & Associates
Caroline has extensive experience in sports therapy, musculoskeletal and ante and post natal areas in both the public and private sectors, including 10 years as the maternity physiotherapist at Calvary John James Hospital and time on staff at S.A. Sports Medicine Centre. I worked with her regularly during my second pregnancy and cannot recommend her highly enough. I've also heard wonderful things about Maureen too.
Centre Space Pilates
Louise utilises pilates movement to balance all physical systems within the body delivering complete immediate physical health. I’ve worked with Louise one-on-one postpartum and found her unique approach to movement strategy incredible. She works by primarily activating the smaller intrinsic muscles near the bone to stabilise the joints, teaching the body to coordinate the muscle activation & release necessary for efficient movement strategy.
NURSING AND FEEDING
Gestalt Breastfeeding Online Program
Possums the Clinic
At one point in my career I worked in a multidisciplinary team with an incredible and wise Paediatrician who referred me to some excellent research conducted by the founders of Possums the Clinic. I've since then flagged Possums as a resource and had their level of support validated by a close friend who accessed their services. I took this breastfeeding program with my second baby and found it really helpful.
Baby Knows Best
Carley Mendes: Oh Baby, Naturally Nourishing Mama & Baby
Having studied holistic nutrition and natural medicine I knew without a doubt I wanted to introduce our children to a nourishing diet of seasonal wholefoods when the time came to start solids. What I didn't know was where to start, I wanted a holistic nutritionist with a real food philosophy who was schooled in both the wisdom of traditional cultures and modern day science to walk me through it and that's how I found Carley and her great course called Baby Knows Best. In 2019 Carley launched practitioner training, Luka McCabe from Boob to Food is a student and sharing loads of helpful information and recipes on her website and instagram account so be sure to give her a follow for great recommendations and resources relevant to Australian families.

Circle of Security Parenting
8 week in-person course
As parents, we try to combine our experience of how we were parented with our intuition and the advice from others. Yet, despite this combination of wisdom, we still find ourselves frequently wondering if we're getting it right. This is where the Circle of Security® model of parenting is so helpful. Founded in over fifty years of attachment theory and research, the Circle of Security® Parenting™ program provides a roadmap for us to understand and meet our child's needs in any given moment. What I love so much about this program is that it's intuitive and about being present over perfect so when we're faced with challenging moments as parents and caregivers, we can easily use this as our guide, secure in the knowledge that we're genuinely acting in our child's best interests. I teach Circle of Security® alongside my wonderful colleague Elissa in Canberra, if you live in the area we'd love to welcome you into our next group. If not, the videos I've included in this post are still well worth the watch as they inspire a different way of thinking about parenting.
